Unique place, I truly enjoyed excellent personnel.
A mini-fridge-bar, air conditioning and a personal safe were available in my deluxe queen room. The location was fantastic and amazing, close to Hospices de Beaune. The area was quiet not far from a cafe/bakery and the beautiful center.

Not far from the centre of Beaune, this is without doubt an exceptional house, beautifully renovated and decorated. Our room was one of the upper ones and had 2 floors, downstairs bathroom and entrance area with minibar and desk, upstairs sleeping place. The bed was very comfortable and the air conditioning very pleasant at almost 40 degrees. The bathroom was very nicely tiled, had a super shower and an unusual columned sink, all in a beige stone design matching the medieval ambience. Due to the lack of reservation we unfortunately could not try the dinner, but the breakfast was great. In the vaulted hall with candlelight and white covers! Fortunately, there was no buffet with lots of things I didn't want anyway, but only a manageable offer of very good jams, honey, various cakes, crepes as well as flakes, muesli and fresh fruit. Then, freshly prepared, there were some egg dishes to order as also coffee or tea and warm baguette, mini risers. Absolutely worth mentioning is also the small cheese selection or optionally the ham platter which one can choose and which is of really best quality. Also the O-Juice comes freshly squeezed. Very, very nice is the staff and the owner couple.
Maybe it's a matter of taste, but unfortunately I don't find it great at all to have to use a really steep staircase to the toilet at night. In general we had now no conditional problem with the many stairs and ways in the house, but the passages were also a challenge for people over 1.80m. For older, limited mobile people the house is certainly not recommended, the paths are long, steep. The hosts are kind enough to help you carry your luggage, but some people will reach their limits here even without. Actually, we would have liked to have a bath in the pool, but this is rather a dark grotto here, which we did not use due to the lack of attractiveness. As great as I like the medieval times in novels and during the sightseeings, I am afraid that in case of an hotel it mainly has some disadvantages. As we were on a round trip, I also had the direct comparison to other houses of different categories and find the price extremely exaggerated concerning the living standard. But the breakfast was clearly much better than all the others.

Charming, part-medieval building converted to hotel; low stone arched doorway: duck your head! Tight spiral stairs--must be able-bodied. Our small room was pretty with views of slate roofs and towers. Easy walk to cathedral, restaurants, market.Helpful front desk.

The restaurant with the old vaulted ceiling. Beautiful. The pictures were a deciding factor in our choosing this hotel from others available during the same dates. The staff was also extremely friendly and helpful. Lovely people!
Some not so good surprises: Winding staircase with small width stairs and no elevator. No nice toilettries or blow dryer. All door knobs were loose or kept falling off. Very loud flusher. not recommended for older people or those travelling with small children. The steps would be a nightmare with buggies and there are no railings going from the ground floor to the first floor. I almost lost my footing a few times. Very loud flushing system that sucks the air from the toilet and sink. Other than that, it suited us just fine and we made light of all of these quirkie things. Oh the door knobs - we cannot look at a door without one without bursting into laughter. Maintenance must be on vacation!
